INTRODUCTION

Hi Everyone. Scott Brandley here. Before we get into the exciting world of Affiliate SEM, I thought I would give you a bit of background as to how it came about. My dad (Dave) and I were sitting in the main ballroom at the StomperNet Live event in Orlando, discussing with a friend the most effective ways to set up PR Pumper sites, when we came up with a great idea! It was such a good idea that as soon as we got home, my we immediately started to put together a "dream team" of top-notch Apprentices and Stompers in order to make the idea a reality as quickly as possible. Most of the team flew to Ogden and we met for an intense 2-day Strategic Planning Meeting to kick off the project. Since then, we've been working like crazy to try to get Affiliate SEM ready for StomperNet Live in Atlanta. It's been a wild ride, but there's no doubt in my mind that we've created one of the greatest pieces of internet marketing software ever created.

WHAT IS AFFILIATE SEARCH ENGINE MARKETING?

As a Stomper you’re probably familiar with Search Engine Marketing (or SEM). Basically SEM encompasses all of the different marketing methods used to increase your website’s visibility in the Search Engine Results Pages (or SERPs). This includes SEO, Pay per click, Product Data Feeds (like Froogle), etc. In other words, SEM is everything you do in order to get traffic from as many different sources as possible.

Affiliate Search Engine Marketing (or Affiliate SEM) is whole new type of Search Engine Marketing, that is able to dramatically multiply your marketing efforts and results. The central idea behind Affiliate SEM is this...

I really want to ingrain this concept into your brain, so let me put this another way.

Let’s compare your current website to McDonald’s. Ask yourself. Where would McDonald’s be today if they only had one restaurant? Just picture it. As locals drove by the one and only ‘McDonald's’, the sign would probably say something like “10,000 Served”, and 99.9% of the rest of the world would never even know it existed! McDonald's would just be one out of a million different restaurants in the world. Do you see the parallel here? If you only have one website you only get one listing out of millions of possible results in the SERPs. O-N-E result out of M-I-L-L-I-O-N-S!!!

So, the real question is, what makes McDonald’s different from local Joe’s Burgers down the street? How does McDonald’s serve Billions and Billions of people all over the world? You already know the answer - they sell their products through multiple locations. While McDonald’s has over 25,000 locations, you only have one online location. While McDonald’s duplicates themselves and sells billions in products, you only have one site where you can sell your products. In other words, whether in the real world or online, your success is limited by the number of locations you have.

Lucky for you, there’s something you have that McDonald’s doesn’t, and that advantage gives you unlimited potential - you can sell your products online and they can’t. Think about it. While McDonald’s is bound by the laws of Real Estate, you have unlimited virtual Real Estate. While it takes millions of dollars to build a physical McDonald’s restaurant, you can build unlimited virtual locations for pennies. While McDonald’s is forced to market their products under their own name, you can market your products under unlimited domain names with the help of affiliates (I’ll explain this later on).

What I’m trying to get at here is that there’s a paradigm shift that needs to be made in your mind, and Affiliate SEM is the catalyst for making that shift. You need to completely discard the idea that you only need one website, because having one website is literally the difference from you being local Joe’s (just one out of a million in your market) or McDonald’s (dominating the marketplace through multiple locations). Remember, just like McDonald’s, with more real estate comes more exposure, and with more exposure comes more sales.

You need to realize that the Internet is not just about location, location, location. The Internet is really about locations, locations, locations. If you can grasp that concept, then what you are going to learn here, and the tools we give you, will help your business to grow exponentially in a very short period of time. And, not only that, but the growth will be stable, long-term, and 100% search engine friendly.

THE 3 INGREDIENTS FOR SUCCESS

Just like baking a prize winning pie, there are three ingredients for Affiliate SEM, that when put together properly, make a winning combination. These three elements are crucial and must be in place for maximum, long-term results. Before Affiliate SEM was created, bringing these elements together and implementing them was an overwhelming, if not impossible task. But with Affiliate SEM, you can put virtually everything on Auto-Pilot and focus on the real reason for selling products online - to make money. The information below is very valuable. Once you understand the concepts, you’ll begin to see just how powerful Affiliate SEM can be, and how it can redefine your online marketing strategy.

Before you read about the 3 ingredients for success, I want to clarify that no matter how many locations you have online, you will always have one location that is more important than any other - your main website. I will refer to your main website from now on as your ‘money site’.

The concept alone of controlling your own virtual real estate is probably one of the most effective marketing concepts online. My dad and I spoke all about this in Orlando - we demonstrated how you can dominate your market by using PR Pumpers.

The PR Pumper concept in a nutshell is to create dozens of information websites related to your money site, and that link directly to your money site. Think of it like a wagon wheel with multiple hubs all pointing towards the middle - these are all topically relevant websites, with one-way links pointing to your money site, pushing your money site to #1. The wonderful thing about this option is that it’s highly effective, IF IT’S DONE CORRECTLY. Unfortunately 99% of the time it’s done completely wrong, and actually backfires, because people are inherently lazy and don’t play by the search engine’s rules. Playing by the rules is critical, and requires that you stay within the search engine’s Terms of Service (or ToS), by making the hubs on your wagon wheel all completely different entities, owned by different people or companies.

Think about it. If you own all of the hubs and the money site, and all the domain names, and they’re all hosted on the same web host, it’s quite easy for the search engines to see that you are trying to artificially boost your money site’s rankings in the SERPs, and they will simply de-index your sites or throw them in the supplemental index, making all your efforts worthless.

Before Affiliate SEM was created, in order to effectively execute this strategy, here’s what you had to do for each website you created (by the way, my dad and I have done everything on this list 10 times and I can attest that it is neither fun nor easy to do):

As you can see, this takes a HUGE amount of work, time, and money to effectively put together and manage, but it’s more than worth it if you have the resources to make it happen, (most people don’t). Rather than being at the mercy of your competitors and link directories for rankings, by creating your own virtual real estate, you control your environment and your linking structure! Not only does this allow you to boost your money site’s rankings in the SERPs, but as you’ll learn in the section below, your additional sites will actually start ranking as well, which starts multiplying your exposure, traffic, and sales in ways you never imagined!

The second ingredient to Affiliate SEM involves affiliates. Now, unless you were born on Mars (and if you’re a man, then most women likely think you were), you know that affiliate marketing is one of the easiest, most effective ways to make sales online, ever! The concept is simple enough - all you have to do is set up an affiliate program on your money site, get someone to sign up for it, and have them place some code on their website. When a visitor clicks on that code and comes to your money site and buys, you make a sale and the affiliate gets a commission for sending that customer to you. The beautiful thing about affiliates is that they do all of the marketing and you only have to pay them when they make a sale.

Unfortunately it’s not all roses, and in most cases affiliate programs completely flop, because:

- Most Affiliates are beginners and don't have a clue what they're doing.

- Most site owners don’t have the time or resources to properly find, teach or motivate their affiliates, and without proper motivation and education, most affiliates don’t do anything. (We’ll talk all about this in the next section.)

- Site owners have no control over the content their affiliates use (ex. keywords, anchor text, etc.) so your affiliates can pretty much put your links wherever they want, use the anchor text they want, and say whatever they want, without very little if any input from you.

- Affiliate code doesn’t pass link value or Page Rank effectively, which means that your money site usually doesn’t get any link benefit from the affiliate links that point to your site.

Typically, the way most affiliate programs are run is very passive, like they’re almost a burden. Most site owners just set it up and never look at it again, expecting that people will just go to their affiliate page, sign up, and make sales. HA! What a waste of time. Affiliate SEM on the other hand, turns affiliate marketing completely around, making it an active, core part of your ongoing marketing strategy, turning your dud affiliate program into a shooting star! The secret is in the creation a brand new type of affiliate called a Power Affiliate.

Power Affiliates (or PA’s) are affiliates that are ‘empowered’ to market your products and services. Like normal affiliates, their job is to go out and find people to buy your products, and if they make a sale, you pay them a commission. But, unlike normal affiliates who get some code to add to their own assortment of products and services, PA’s are given their very own unique website to market only your products.

This is the ah-ha moment right here - Every single time you give one of your affiliates their own website that sells your products, you multiply yourself and your efforts!!! The bottom line - Power Affiliates give you the LEVERAGE you need to sell your products to the world!

So to sum things up to this point, by using the Affiliate SEM software to recruit Power Affiliates and build Power Affiliate sites, you are creating completely separate entities - all independent of your money site. By having PA’s you are able to develop your own virtual real estate market that you control, that is completely white hat and within the search engine’s ToS. Every PA website created will be unique, SEO optimized, and built to last and rank in the SERPs.

As I mentioned earlier, one of the biggest problems with affiliate programs is that most site owners don’t have the time or resources to find, teach or motivate their affiliates, so either nobody signs up, or the majority of those that sign up never do anything.
